Karen Agostisi Stone has nearly 15 years of advocacy and Capitol Hill experience across a variety of policy areas and brings with her a deep understanding of coalition management, issue campaign development, and legislative strategy. Karen returned to ACG in 2018 from Planned Parenthood Federation of America, where she served as Associate Director, Legislative Affairs. For six years, she advocated on behalf of Planned Parenthood's priorities on Capitol Hill, including federal appropriations, health finance, and access to reproductive health care services. In 2017 she played an important role in the successful organization-wide campaign to defeat legislation to repeal the ACA and "defund" Planned Parenthood.
Prior to joining PPFA, Karen served as Legislative Director for Representative Dina Titus (D-NV) and held several legislative roles in the office of Representative Steve Israel (D-NY), including staffing him in his position on the House Appropriations Committee. On Capitol Hill, she worked on a range of issues including budget and appropriations, health care, education, labor, transportation, energy, and the environment. In her prior role at ACG, Karen represented clients on Capitol Hill and most recently served as Interim National Vice President, Government Relations for ACG client Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
A Long Island native, Karen graduated from James Madison University in 2004 with a BA in Political Science. She currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband and two young children.
